DEGW Grows Workplace Strategy Team With the Addition of Senior Consultant, Bryant Rice
JUNE 2009
The international strategic workplace design consultancy appoints a LEED-certified
architect with broad background in business, architecture and furniture systems.
SAN FRANCISCO, June 29, 2009 – The international workplace consultancy DEGW
announced that Bryant Rice will join as a senior consultant. Mr. Rice, a former president
of the San Francisco chapter of the American Institute of Architects and an active
member of CoreNet Workplace Community, will
concentrate on workplace strategies, change
management, and real estate and portfolio
appraisal projects. As a registered architect with an MBA, he will combine design and
business experience to deliver strategic workplace solutions for clients. Rice’s
background stretches from all areas of strategic planning including project
management, property assessment, workplace strategy, and design.
According to DEGW, Rice has built a successful resumé in the niche of
workplace consulting since 1995. He previously worked for DEGW for three years
beginning in 1998, when he managed an extensive two-year project for the BBC.
Rejoining DEGW after a successful engagement with the furniture-systems leader
Teknion Corporation, Rice brings experience as a district manager responsible for
dealer development and market strategy for SideMark, Teknion’s California dealer.
Prior to working with Teknion, Rice provided architecture and consulting
services through an independent consultancy called =C. Along with these professional
credentials, Rice has also earned academic credentials serving as a professor at the
California College of the Arts.
“As an active member and participant in the CoreNet Workplace Community,
Bryant has been vigorously engaged with a prestigious group of professionals at the
center of thought leadership in his field of workplace planning, strategy and design,”
said Andrew Laing, Managing Director – North America for DEGW. “His past
experiences as a consultant, architect, studio leader and project manager have honed
his skills in the areas where DEGW excel: In planning, solution development,
communication, budgeting, scheduling and presentation. Bryant will be a huge asset to
DEGW.”
Rice will be based in DEGW’s San Francisco office, where the consultancy has
developed an admirable clientele including technology leaders such as Cisco,
Microsoft, Intuit and Google. Using a carefully honed combination of research, business
consulting, and workplace strategy, DEGW has built a core competency around
optimizing the workspaces their clients already occupy to create more functional,
worker-friendly spaces without increasing the footprint of the corporation.
Bryant Rice’s familiarity with business strategies and project management – as
well as his expertise with systems furniture – will further DEGW’s readiness to address
workplace transformations for their clients. ###
